As a complement to reading The Picture of Dorian Gray, the story of one man’s descent into immorality , there are a lot of things that you should know about the author: Oscar Wilde, the age: Victorian Time, Literature of that age, his works and his masterpiece.
Once you have researched about them all, you’ll be able to understand the book a lot better!

TASK:
1. The class will be divided in 5 groups of 4-6 people:
  • GROUP 1: OSCAR WILDE
  • GROUP 2: HIS WORKS
  • GROUP 3: THE AGE
  • GROUP 4: LITERATURE OF THE AGE
  • GROUP 5: THE MASTERPIECE
2. Each person in the group will investigate on the topic using the websites provided or others and write a report on it.
3. All of you will have to prepare a short presentation for the class and hand the information to the teacher.

I guess Oscar Wilde is an Irish writer you all have heard about. He lived in the 19th century and has become one of the most famous playwrights all around the world. He was an uncommon man during his time.
